OctoCamo and FaceCamo Guide: How Camouflage Actually Works

Learn the camouflage rules behind surface matching, movement, stance, and the FaceCamo bonuses.

Surface matching is a pause, not invisibility

OctoCamo becomes strongest when you stop moving on a matching surface. Use a short pause after entering cover, then peek from a new angle rather than relying on the suit while crossing open ground.

Stance and speed

Crawling is quietest but slow. Crouch-walking gives you the best balance for most patrol routes; sprint only after the route is confirmed clear.

FaceCamo timing

FaceCamo is most useful when a disguise changes enemy behavior. Equip it before entering the relevant social space, not after an alarm has already started.
